You are your child’s first and most influential teacher, which is why we believe it is so important to support YOU. You are in the throes of your child’s first year of life, a year of wild brain development.. let us be a part of your village! Come join our community of new parents to socialize and share tips in this safe space. This class was designed by an occupational therapist, and it originally focused on fostering healthy body development during the first year of life. However, we recently consulted with speech and language experts in an effort to improve our curriculum. Our class discussions and activities will also promote early language development. This class will be memorable AND informative!
What can you expect from our class? Each week we will have the same routine for our little ones. We will start class slowly (to ease the little ones into the setting) with exploratory play with age appropriate toys/equipment, then we will sit together in a large circle for songs, instruments, large motor activities like stretchy band, sensory band, and parachute. Next, you and your child will head off to explore the sensory play stations.
Babies will enjoy a variety of sensorimotor activities while both bonding with their caregivers and exploring socially within the group. Activities will incorporate all of baby’s senses as well as the body’s sense of movement, positioning, and self-regulation. Classes will provide opportunities for tummy/floor time, music/finger plays, as well as independent exploration of age-appropriate materials. Unfortunately, due to the nature of the class, we ask that siblings not attend. Please bring your own yoga mat and/or blanket from home.
Our P2L classes provide caregivers with strategies to foster social, emotional, physical and intellectual growth during this most critical period of brain development! The class is of course designed to enrich your child, but we can promise that YOU will learn something new EVERY class. Hope you can join us!
